It was an extremely hot day yet she went out and humored me. I love her for that. 

I see who I want to be, in my daughters eyes....

Wow, it's been a crazy week! I have been stocking my Etsy store and finding that I am totally in love with making these little pixie hats. This is one I just finished up tonight and  I think it's great for fall. My daughter, the one in the contest photo above, wants one in her size so I will be getting her (and probably a few of her friends) all little pixie hats. 

Fall and Levitating? Almost a little oxymoron. :)

We have been having fall-like weather here in my little part of Ohio and I am loving it! Cool days and chilled nights. I hope it lasts until Christmas but I'm sure we will have some heat come back. Ugh.

I have it in my plans this weekend to visit a church I have to shoot in next month and also finally get to some levitation photos of my daughter. Last weekend things did not go as planned. 

Fingers crossed I will have success this time!

I'm Back On Etsy!

I am back on Etsy again after a year off. When I left that venue I had been there for 2 yrs and had almost 4,000 sales (well, it was actually in the mid 3,000's but 4,000 sounds better, no?)!

I left because I was so burnt out. Etsy moves fast you know. :)

So, I closed my shop and sold very little to a few photographers who had kept up with my knitting over time. 

Since I am starting to knit again I have decided to open up shop again at Etsy so my knitting doesn't clog up my photo blog.  I may still put a few links to new items here or on Facebook but I won't be getting into too much detail unless it's a few photos.

I was up until the wee hours of morning and listed a few items and will try to get some more hats up tonight.  I will be stocking the store nice and full and all items will be ready to ship unless specified in the listing.

It's Almost Fall Ya'll!

Let me just say that I cannot wait for fall to arrive! 

It's my absolute favorite season but sadly it never lasts very long. 

I can tell fall will be here soon because I've been knitting like crazy and I've been digging through my stash of knits that I have either not sold or have made and put away to "someday" sell. I have a lot of "somedays". I get in the mood to knit something, finish it and then do nothing with it.  I have always been a newborn photography prop knitter and not a newborn photographer. I don't have the patience for that nor do I have the skill to pull  off a beautiful newborn. I will just stick to the knitting side of newborns. 

It appears that with my recent knitting bug I am clogging up my photography blog, which is not my intention. 

I plan on moving the knits to another site (this weekend) that will be linked in here for anyone who does want to keep up with the knitting.

This hat (and the following matching cocoon) have been knit with a beautiful fall inspired homespun yarn. The colors are sure to bring you into the Autumn kind of mood. 

Below is a cocoon made from the same yarn. This cocoon was knit with a "V" type slit at the top. I like to call it a "caped" look. These cocoons are great for photo props but I have also made this one from a durable yarn so it can be used for everyday use to swaddle baby...great because baby cannot kick it off like a blanket...also good for helping younger siblings when they are trying to hold baby (with supervision).

Here is another cocoon perfect for Fall. This one is made from a HANDspun, hand dyed merino wool. This wool was 100% done by hands only from start to finish. I love merino!!

Here is the cocoon I made with it. It is a simple cocoon that would fit an average sized newborn. 

Please know, that unlike the first cocoon in this post, this particular cocoon is NOT for everyday use around the house with baby. This should be used for photos only and hand washed and they put flat to dry.

Sometimes Thing Just Don't Go As Planned...

I've been planning a shoot in my head and today was the day it was going to happen. 

Things didn't go as planned so I wasn't able to have the assistance I would need to pull it off so it was just me and my dd and an idea that wasn't going as planned. It was also way too hot!

I did manage to click off a few. I will post them if I find any good ones. 

Ever have this happen to you? Oy.

This set includes a cocoon and hat. 

The original has white "fur" blended on the top, however if requested, I can make the top of the cocoon and bottom of the hat with white yarn and white fur and then continue the rest in the red. That is if you do not want the white fur on red and would prefer the white on white look. :)

The cocoon is slit on the top to have a "V" opening or a "caped" look to it, this can also be changed to a closed cocoon if you prefer.

These will be newborn sizes unless specified.

Please use slings safely. Realize that most "hanging shots" are an illusion and done in editing. NEVER hang baby from high places as any height is extremely dangerous.
